2024 NFL midseason All-Pro team: Where Eagles players stand among league’s elite

Few rosters boast as much star power as the Philadelphia Eagles, especially on the offensive side of the ball. At 6-2 and riding a four-game win streak, they’re also firmly among the league’s top teams entering the second half of the season.

This is the time of year when NFL writers start releasing their midseason favorites for the NFL’s annual All-Pro teams.

Multiple Eagles players should be in the mix for All-Pro nods by season’s end. So where do their top players currently stand among the league’s elite entering Week 10?

Let’s break it down:

2024 NFL midseason All-Pro favorites: Philadelphia Eagles

Quarterback: Jalen Hurts

Hurts has been playing at an MVP level over Philly’s four-game win streak. He’s passed for six touchdowns and no interceptions while also rushing for six scores over that stretch. Hurts had a slow start to the season, which was to be expected with the team breaking in yet another new offensive coordinator. He’s trending in the right direction, but players like Josh  Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jared Goff and even rookie sensation Jayden Daniels have more complete resumes at the midpoint.

Current All-Pro status: None

Running back: Saquon Barkley

As NFL insider Jeremy Fowler put it this week: Barkley has been a revelation for the Eagles. He’s having a Christian McCaffrey-like impact in his first season with Philly, already amassing 925 rushing yards and eight total touchdowns through eight games. He’s easily been the NFL’s most impressive running back … in the NFC. But we have to give the first-team nod to Derrick Henry at the midpoint, as he leads the NFL in rushing yards (1,052) and rushing touchdowns (11) in an absurd start to 2024.

Current All-Pro status: 2nd Team

Wide receiver: A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith

Brown was a second-team All-Pro selection last season, and he’s easily the Eagles most important skill position player. The offense is a completely different animal when he’s in the lineup. Unfortunately, he’s missed three-and-a-half games due to hamstring and knee injuries this season. His sidekick, Smith, missed time himself due to a concussion. Neither player has the stats to contend with Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase or Garrett Wilson at this stage, but Brown could close the gap quickly in the second half of the season.

Current All-Pro status: None

Right tackle: Lane Johnson

Jordan Mailata might have been a frontrunner before landing on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Johnson has been his usual rock-solid self on the right side, though he did miss a game as he worked through the NFL’s concussion protocol. We’ll give Detroit's Penei Sewell the slight edge here, as he’s been dominant this season for the NFC’s best team through nine weeks, but Johnson is still firmly in the hunt for his third career first-team nod.

Current All-Pro status: 2nd team.

Defensive tackle: Jalen Carter

The entire Eagles defense got off to a slow start this season, Carter included, but the former Georgia Bulldogs star has been a force over the last month of the season. He’s not yet at the level of a Chris Jones or Dexter Lawrence, but he’s shown flashes that he can get there. Carter has three sacks and 28 total QB pressures through eight games. He’s in the All-Pro conversation in his second season.

Current All-Pro status: 2nd team.

Linebacker: Zack Baun

Baun has been the free agent steal of the century for Howie Roseman. He’s performing at an All-Pro level — after signing a one-year free agent contract worth $1.6 million this offseason. He’s graded as PFF’s No. 6 overall linebacker at the midpoint, and ranks tied for fourth in the NFL with 52 solo tackles. He doesn’t have the name recognition of a Fred Warner or Bobby Wagner, but he’s been arguably just as impressive and more important for his new team. There hasn’t been a better linebacker in coverage through the first nine weeks.

Current All-Pro status: 2nd team.
