3 CeeDee Lamb trades that would shake up the NFL in 2024 season

Could CeeDee Lamb be traded?

Until the Dallas Cowboys give superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb a contract extension, people are going to speculate about whether or not he could potentially be traded. As unlikely as that may seem if the Kansas City Chiefs can trade Tyreek Hill, then there's probably not a receiver in the league who is off-limits for the right price.

The Cowboys undoubtedly don't want to trade CeeDee Lamb, especially with Dak Prescott needing an extension. Trading Prescott's favorite target wouldn't exactly help the Cowboys in negotiations, would it? But again, until the Cowboys make it clear they're committing to Lamb for the long haul, these types of articles are going to continually be cranked out by the NFL content mill.

You're all welcome.

What trades involving CeeDee Lamb would rock the NFL to its core in 2024? Which teams making a bold move to trade for him and sign him to a monstrous extension would potentially have Super Bowl implications?

1. Kansas City Chiefs could three-peat by trading for CeeDee Lamb

No NFL team should be "helping" a team like the Kansas City Chiefs out in this way. Let's say the Chiefs offered multiple first-round picks and someone like Skyy Moore or Xavier Worthy in exchange for Lamb. Why would the Dallas Cowboys set them up for success like this?

Imagine CeeDee Lamb playing for the Kansas City Chiefs and emerging as their long-term top target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. This would take so much pressure off of Travis Kelce and would give the Chiefs the go-to threat at reciever they've been lacking for the last two years, and they've been winning big in spite of that roster weakness.

Getting Lamb on the Chiefs' roster would be unfair. The Cowboys would have to require something big in a trade from them like multiple first-round picks and a player even for the NFL to sign off on allowing something like this. But no matter what the Chiefs would give up, it probably wouldn't be enough to make things "fair" for the 31 other NFL teams.

This would be video-game like and the Chiefs would almost certainly win their third Super Bowl in a row.

2. Cincinnati Bengals make a bold move to pair up CeeDee Lamb/Ja'Marr Chase

The Cincinnati Bengals are getting ready to potentially invest a staggering contract in wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, their first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The long-term deal for quarterback Joe Burrow is done.

The fate of wide receiver Tee Higgins is currently hanging in the balance, but if the Cowboys and Bengals wanted to get really crazy, they could potentially come together on a deal that included Tee Higgins and a 1st-round pick from the Bengals in the 2025 NFL Draft for CeeDee Lamb.

Pairing up CeeDee Lamb and Ja'Marr Chase? That might be worth the cost, whatever it is, for a team like Cincinnati.

If the Bengals aren't going to give Tee Higgins a long-term deal, they've got to figure out how to maximize his value somehow. Higgins might be traded within the next 8-10 months if the Bengals aren't going to keep him around, but one of the worst outcomes of his situation would be letting him walk in free agency next year.

Not that Higgins would be a one-for-one replacement for CeeDee Lamb, but giving the Cowboys a proven option at receiver along with attractive draft compensation might actually get them thinking about a deal. For Dallas, Higgins and a first-round pick would come cheaper contractually than Lamb and allow them to sweeten their offers to quarterback Dak Prescott.

3. Josh Allen gets a new WR1 if Bills trade for CeeDee Lamb

The Buffalo Bills have sort of had a sad offseason in 2024. This team has been in a competitive window over the last handful of years, and unfortunately, the Kansas City Chiefs have been standing in their way. Although every team has to reload eventually, the offseason the Bills have had in 2024 certainly hasn't brought them any closer to competing with the Chiefs.

Making a blockbuster trade for CeeDee Lamb might help get them there.

The best the Bills have to offer the Cowboys in terms of sending a player back in a trade at receiver would be second-round pick Keon Coleman, but perhaps they could offer Dallas a couple of 1st-round picks and additional draft capital to entice them in a trade.

The Cowboys have given no indication that they are allowing Lamb to shop his services around, nor are they seemingly interested in trading him. In that case, they'd have to be blown away by an offer. As tough as it is to see now, it's possible that the Cowboys could be enticed by having all of this draft capital with Dak Prescott's contract situation.

The Buffalo Bills traded Stefon Diggs this offseason and let Gabe Davis walk in free agency to the Jaguars. They are hurting at receiver, even if a young player like Keon Coleman steps up. Adding CeeDee Lamb to the mix would give Josh Allen a true #1 playmaker during his prime years and vault the Bills firmly into the title contention conversation for the foreseeable future.
