The Philadelphia Eagles could end up trading tight end Dallas Goedert with one more year left on his deal, but which teams makes sense in a trade? Philly has already undergone some roster movements this offseason to get a bit healthier financially, and it's also the natural progression of an NFL team.
Teams change players all the time, and the Eagles are no different - they were not immune to this because they were a fun team that won it all. Well, another player who could be on the move is Dallas Goedert, their tight end.
Goedert has been a rock-solid player for them, but Philly could move him for the right price, it seems.
Which three teams could come calling about Dallas Goedert in 2025?
3 logical trade destinations for Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert in 2025
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers do not have a ton at tight end right now. They were in on Evan Engram, but he signed with the Denver Broncos. LA could target someone like Colston Loveland in the 2025 NFL Draft, but the TE class is so deep that they could potentially take someone in the later rounds.
Being that tight end is a tough position to develop at in the NFL, Dallas Goedert could be the go-to guy at the position and could allow the Chargers some flexibility in the NFL Draft. Someone like Loveland could make sense, as he played for Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, but Goedert could bring instant production.
Indianapolis Colts
One team that has truly struggled at TE for years now is the Indianapolis Colts. They could take Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but they could also swing a trade for Dallas Goedert. The Colts have a QB situation on their hands, as one of Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson will start for them.
Neither QB is good, but you'd have to think that it could only help their chances of they had a legitimate tight end on the roster. Being that Colts GM Chris Ballard may not be super safe, either, he should keep being aggressive and swing this trade.
Kansas City Chiefs
I am not sure the Kansas City Chiefs would be able to do this, as I am not sure the Philadelphia Eagles would actually trade Dallas Goedert to the team, but you never know. I guess if the offer is strong enough, Eagles GM Howie Roseman would have to consider it, right?
Travis Kelce is clearly declined and is likely only playing for one more season, and a TE room featuring Kelce and Goedert could be among the best in the NFL and could allow both players to take the load off of each other at times.
It would also give Patrick Mahomes another weapon, and this Chiefs team does seem to be too Mahomes-reliant at times, so another weapon will surely be welcomed.
