The San Francisco 49ers know about when they'll get their full 2025 schedule this year.
The NFL hopes to have the 2025 schedule finalized in mid-May.
While the 49ers' opponents have been known for a while now, the actual schedule of when San Francisco will play those opponents remains to be determined.
Now we know.
The NFL's vice president of broadcast planning appeared on the It's Always Gameday in Buffalo podcast and gave the tentative dates of May 13, 14 or 15 for a schedule release date.
"No set date because, really, you never know," he said (via John Breech of CBS Sports). "If by some miracle, we're done on May 7 and we present one to the boss [Roger Goodell] and the commissioner says, 'Hey, this is perfect, I wouldn't change a thing, guys.' We're done. Pencils down. If so, probably no reason to sit on it."
With a 6-11 mark in 2024, the 49ers will play the fourth-place schedule of teams from the NFC North, NFC East and AFC North. The schedule also will include every team from the AFC South and NFC South.
The 49ers will play their regular games against NFC West opponents, including home and away tilts against the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, and Arizona Cardinals.
San Francisco will see home games against the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panters, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears.
The 49ers will see away games against the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The only things we do know about the 2025 schedule is that the Eagles will open the new season on Sept. 4 and the Los Angeles Chargers will begin their season in São Paulo, Brazil on Sept. 5.
