49ers-Eagles Trade Pitch Would Land Pass-Rusher in San Francisco

The San Francisco 49ers are gearing up for the 2025 NFL draft and have quite a few needs to address. Adding another pass-rusher across from Nick Bosa could be one of those needs. To that end, the 49ers could consider a pre-draft trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.

In recent days, the Eagles have been rumored to be considering moving on from defensive end Bryce Huff. Assuming those rumors are accurate, could San Francisco consider making a move for him?

Huff would be a very intriguing addition for any team needing help off of the edge. He's a capable pass-rushing threat, although consistency has been an issue for him.

Now, a trade has been suggested between the 49ers and Philadelphia that would send Huff out to the west coast.

Logan Ulrich of NFL Trade Rumors has proposed a deal between the two teams that would see Huff head to the 49ers in exchange for a 2026 conditional sixth-round pick heading back to the Eagles.

"That deal gives the 49ers a potential impact pass rusher for an affordable cost," he wrote. "Huff has no guarantees on his deal in 2026, so the 49ers could move on with no risk if things don't work out. They would also be able to renegotiate his deal if it's a good fit."

During the 2024 NFL season in Philadelphia, Huff played in 12 games. He recorded just 13 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Back in 2023, however, he played a full 17-game season with the New York Jets and totaled 29 tackles, 10 sacks, and a defended pass.

At 26 years old, trading for Huff would be a gamble, but the move would be well worth a conditional sixth-round pick if it was on the table.
