49ers Former 7th-Round Pick Jauan Jennings Poised For Offensive Takeover

Despite finishing last in the NFC West in 2024 with a 6-11 record, the San Francisco 49ers did not play bad this past season.

49ers Former 7th-Round Pick Jauan Jennings Poised For Offensive Takeover

And it was due to the players that were able to stay healthy.

In a recent article by PFF's Jonathon Macri, he outlines the player who he thinks is the most underrated on every NFL team. For the Niners, he thinks that player is wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who really stepped up.

"Despite all odds, Jennings established himself as a top option on offense, ranking in the top 20 in PFF receiving grade (83.7), receptions (77) and yards per route run (2.26) in the regular season among qualifying wide receivers," Macri wrote. "Thanks to his most recent season, the former seventh-round pick is now in a prime spot to continue his stellar play in 2025."

The 49ers had a number of stars get injured in 2024, including Brandon Aiyuk and Christian McCaffrey. As a result, some other players had to step up.

Jennings was the primary person to take a step forward, as he finished the season with 975 yards and six touchdowns. He only started in 10 games, so if he had stayed on the field a bit longer, he would have easily surpassed the 1000-yard mark.

Looking forward? McCaffrey is back. Aiyuk is trying to be.

But ...

Even though the Niners will hopefully have everyone back and healthy to start 2025, Jennings will be looking to build on the very solid season that he had in 2024.
