George Kittle scored two touchdowns for the San Francisco 49ers in their first meeting with the Seattle Seahawks this season when they beat their division rivals on the road in Week 6.
They will renew acquaintances with the Seahawks on Sunday in a bid to complete a third successive season sweep of Seattle and improve to 6-4.
But there is some slight concern of Kittle heading into that matchup, with head coach Kyle Shanahan revealing in his Monday conference call with local media that the All-Pro tight end is dealing with some "hamstring irritation" and will be monitored throughout the week.
Kittle's issue obviously does not sound serious but, given it's a soft tissue injury, the 49ers will rightfully be very careful ahead of what is a crucial matchup as San Francisco looks to move level with the Arizona Cardinals at the top of the NFC West.
San Francisco got good news on cornerback Renardo Green, the impressive second-round rookie who left the fourth quarter of the 49ers' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday with a toe injury and did not return. Green is considered day-to-day.
Green had two pass breakups in the 49ers' 23-20 victory, taking his tally to four in what is rapidly developing into an outstanding rookie year.
With the possibility of Charvarius Ward understandably missing a second game following the death of his one-year-old daughter, Green is a player of increasing importance for the 49ers.
Green had a crucial interception in the Week 6 matchup with the Seahawks, which Ward missed through injury.
Shanahan added that punter Mitch Wishnowsky has had a back problem flare up and the 49ers are evaluating treatment options.
