The San Francisco 49ers haven't necessarily had the start to the 2024 campaign that they were hoping for, but on an individual level, Deebo Samuel has certainly gotten off on the right foot.
While Samuel did miss San Fran's Week 3 contest, he's hauled in 20 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown, in addition to rushing for 51 yards and another score on 19 carries, in the five games he's played in, proving that he's still one of the best big play threats in the league.
Samuel starred in the Niners Week 6 win over the Seattle Seahawks (three receptions, 102 yards, one touchdown, four carries, 15 yards), but he picked up a wrist injury along the way. After being limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Samuel logged a full practice on Friday, making him good to go for the 49ers big Week 7 contest.
San Francisco has a Super Bowl LVIII rematch on their hands with the Kansas City Chiefs in the Week 7, and it's safe to say that the stakes are pretty high heading into this one.
If the Niners win, their record would go to 4-3, which would be huge considering the slow start to the season they have had. But if they lose, they would go to 3-4 on the year, meaning the NFC West would still be wide open through seven weeks of action.
Having Samuel on the field will provide the 49ers a huge boost, as he's been arguably their most consistent playmaker on offense amid all the injuries the team has dealt with early on in the 2024 campaign.
Samuel and company will be highly motivated to get revenge against the Chiefs in this one, and the outcome could play a huge role in determining how their season unfolds. The game is scheduled for kick off at 4:25 P.M. EST on October 20th.
