A.J. Brown Sends Direct Message on Jalen Hurts Beef After Win Over Steelers

The media made much ado about the relationship between Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts after their teammate and defensive captain Brandon Graham created drama with comments he made during a radio interview last week.

Brown publicly called out Philly's pass game as the team's primary problem area following a narrow 6-point win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 14. The Eagles scored 2 touchdowns through the air, though Hurts went just 14-of-21 for 108 yards.

"I know [Hurts] is trying and [Brown] could be better with how he responds to things. They were friends before this, but things have changed, and I understand that because life happens," Graham said. "But, it's the business side that we have to make sure that we don't let the personal get in the way of the business, and that's what we gotta do better right now."

The stat line and the words coming out of the Eagles' locker room were considerably different following the team's dominant victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. Hurts completed 25-of-32 passes for 290 yards and 2 scores, one of which came on a 5-yard pass to Brown near the end of the first quarter.

Following the touchdown, Brown and Hurts engaged in a choreographed celebration, which the wideout explained in detail to media members during his postgame interview.

"That was our moment to tell everybody to shut up," Brown said.

The Eagles are now 12-2, tied for the best record in the NFC with the Detroit Lions and in position to tell the entire NFL to "shut up" on their way to a strong postseason run.
