Overlooked with all of the hype surrounding the 2025 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans quietly added a quality veteran to the wide receiver position in former Seattle Seahawks unrestricted free agent Tyler Lockett.
During the draft, the newest Titans addition stepped up and welcomed all of his new teammates as they were selected.
Lockett was brought in to help bolster the room next to Calvin Ridley and Van Jefferson as experienced wideouts on the roster. A former All-Pro, the Seahawks released Lockett after 10 successful seasons. This simple gesture shows the type of person Lockett is and the veteran presence and leadership he will bring to the room.
The Titans entered the draft looking to add to the wide receiver position and did just that. In the fourth round, they selected Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomano. They followed that by adding one of Cam Ward’s favorite college targets, Xavier Restrepo, as an undrafted rookie free agent.
While Ridley may be the star of the unit, the consistent and steady presence of Lockett should go a long way in helping this young group of receivers develop into a dynamic unit.
