Aaron Rodgers is going to be a free agent this offseason as the New York Jets are set to release him soon. While nobody would question Rodgers if he decided to retire right now, it sounds like he plans to stick around for at least another season.
One team that has been linked to him is the Tennessee Titans. He owns a home in Nashville and has flirted with the franchise in the past. However, he may not realistically consider them at this moment. The Titans were the worst team in the NFL last season and it doesn't like he wants to be part of a rebuild.
Rodgers was recently questioned by TMZ and he revealed the two things he wants from his next team. One, he wants them to want him. If Tennessee were to sign him, it's safe to say that it's because they wanted him.
The biggest issue is that he said he'd also like to be surrounded by talent. The Titans have one of the weakest rosters in the NFL. Calvin Ridley is a good wide receiver for him to throw to but they need a lot more talent on offense.
Perhaps if they add Rodgers, they can trade down in the draft and try to add some skill players. It doesn't make much sense for a team with so many needs to add a 41-year-old quarterback but if they don't like their options in the draft, Rodgers could make sense as a stopgap option. The interest would need to be mutual, though.
