New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is unsure about what he wants to do this offseason.

The 41-year-old has contemplated retirement for the last few years and now must decide where he wants to play even if he chooses to return for a 21st season.

Of course, the Jets need to determine if they want the quarterback returning to their roster as well.

While New York continues along with their decision regarding who they will hire to be the team's head coach and general manager, the quarterback question has taken something of a back seat in recent weeks.

To one top analyst, though, a potential new home for Rodgers could be on the horizon in 2025.

And a reunion with one of his former coaches.

ESPN's Adam Schefter teased the possibility of the New Orleans Saints not only hiring former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy - who just left the Dallas Cowboys - but also having the hire lead to a reunion with both Rodgers and All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.

“I think they’re kind of committed," Schefter said. "They have to be committed to Derek Carr, whoever the head coach is. If Mike McCarthy gets that job, and if Aaron Rodgers wants to play, and if they have the conversation, there’s a lot of ifs that have to happen before we could get there, in my mind.”

There's some double-talk mashed into that statement. But ...

The idea of Rodgers potentially leaving New York to go down to the Bayou is an interesting possibility. One that grows if McCarthy is the top choice in New Orleans.

Should that potential move happen, the Jets would have to go back to the drawing board at quarterback.

This means either a 2025 rookie or a veteran bridge would be the choice moving forward.
