The New Orleans Saints have plenty of options for their 2025 NFL Draft. Could they take a quarterback in round one? Will they add a weapon for Kellen Moore's offense. Maybe a boost on the defensive side of the ball that is aging?
Only time will tell, but the latest decision by the Tennessee Titans makes the first overall pick a lot clearer for the rest of the NFL.
Titans cancel meeting with Shedeur Sanders
The Titans are cancelling their previously scheduled private workout with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Once believed to be in play as the top overall pick, this decision opens the door for Miami QB Cam Ward to be the first selection.
So the @Titans have respectfully cancelled private workouts with Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, making it all but official they will take Cam Ward No. 1. -- Todd McShay
Tennessee has retained plenty of interest in Ward throughout the process, and it feels nearly set in stone that they'll pick him to kick off the draft. With that pick, the opportunity to trade up for any team to the top selection will be impossible.
Saints' plans
New Orleans has seemed intrigued by Ward from the start of draft season, but they'll most likely have to pivot. Shedeur Sanders seems like the most likely candidate for the Saints if they want to pick a QB in the top ten, but Kellen Moore has met with Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.
They have emerged as the recent favorite to draft Sanders, via FanDuel. That's worth keeping an eye on as the first day of the draft approaches.
Regardless, this move by Tennessee basically slams the door shut on any trade chances, simply because they seem locked in on Ward.
