Detroit Lions defensive star Aidan Hutchinson is feeling optimistic heading into the 2025 season.
Up until his painful injury in Week 6 in 2024, Aidan Hutchinson was dominating for the Detroit Lions.
Hutchinson made 12 solo tackles through five games, before fracturing his tibia and fibula in a brutal injury against the Cowboys.
This was one of several defensive injuries the Lions suffered during the season, eventually proving their undoing, when Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders dropped 45 points on them in the playoffs.

Aidan Hutchinson latest
Aidan Hutchinson has been working hard towards a full recovery, dropping regular video updates on his bid to get fully fit.
Now as the Detroit Lions head towards training camp, Aidan Hutchinson has provided a new update in an interview with CBS.
Hutchinson claims he is exactly on track for where he intends to be, and where he would normally be in an offseason.
He explained: “I’m exactly where I need to be. Every year I’ve been able to improve on my physical attributes and the mental ones, and take a step, and despite having that rehab this offseason I feel like I’m in the perfect spot and where I need to be heading into year four.”
Hutchinson says he has enjoyed defying all the doubters he has faced through his career, and is confident he will continue to improve.
“My potential, there’s still more to learn. People liked to put that mark on me coming out of the draft, high-floor low-ceiling but I think I’ve proved there is a lot more to come every single year.
“I’m looking forward to year four.”
Aidan Hutchinson not concerned with co-ordinator exits
One of the potential challenges the Detroit Lions face this coming season is having new offensive and defensive coordinators.
Former Lions OC Ben Johnson has become the new Chicago Bears head coach, with DC Aaron Glenn hired by the New York Jets.
Hutchinson does not believe the Lions will be too negatively impacted, because they have retained all of their key players.
He explained: “The majority of our team is still intact, all of our cornerstone pieces, and that’s the most important part.
“As long as you keeping key pieces on both sides of the ball, that’s all that matters.”
Referring to their replacements John Morton and Kelvin Sheppard, Hutchinson says their task should be relatively simple with the players the Lions have on their roster.
“As long as they put us in position to make plays, we got to do our job.”
