Actor Aldis Hodge, known for his roles in Black Adam, Leverage: Redemption, City on a Hill, and more, will star in the upcoming Prime Video thriller Cross. The series is based on the novel series written by best-selling author James Patterson. The premiere date hasn't been set for season 1, but Cross will release before the end of the year. Deadline reports that ahead of the series debut, Prime Video has renewed for a second season.
Created by Ben Watkins, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, the series tells of Alex Cross (Hodge) a detective and forensic psychologist has a knack for getting inside the minds of the killer and victims as he seeks to bring the murderers to justice.
Cross is a brillant man, who is flawed and full of contradictions. Traumatized by his wife's murder, Cross is a doting family man who becomes single-minded to the point of obsession when hunting down the killers he investigates.
Hodge, who also produces the series, is joined by fellow cast members Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford, and Ryan Eggold. Prime Video has announced that Wes Chatham, Matthew Lillard, and Jeanine Mason will join season 2, with Johnny Ray Gill becoming a series regular.

SAG Award-winning actor Hodge had a small role in The Walking Dead during season 4. He portrayed Mike, Michonne's (Danai Gurira) boyfriend and father of her son Andre.
He is well known for his role as Hawkman/Carter in Black Adam, for starring in and executive producing Showtime's City on a Hill, and for portraying Alec Hardison in Leverage: Redemption. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for the NAACP Image Awards for his role in Regina King's directorial debut, One Night in Miami. Hodge also starred opposite Elizabeth Moss in Invisible Man and the Academy Award-nominated feature Hidden Figures.
Next, he will star alongside his brother Edwin Hodge in the movie Parallel, which is produced by Hodge Brothers Productions. He also stars with Joe Keery and Camila Morrone in the newly released Marmalade, Keir O'Donnell's romantic heist film.
