Alvin Kamara seen as the silver lining for the Saints

Alvin Kamara could be a steal for fantasy managers in 2025.

We are in the middle of the NFL offseason. Without games being played, fans have switched their focus to fantasy football. Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport looked to help fans by releasing his list of ten players teams must have in 2025.

Alvin Kamara: 'Not used to losing'

The Saints don’t have high hopes in this department, however, Davenport believes Alvin Kamara will be a stud next year in fantasy, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to Saints fans. He may be aging but will still have a productive season in 2025.

Davenport notes how the Saints offense didn’t click in 2024, outside of the first two weeks. However, the offense was bad despite Kamara’s effort. He did everything for the offense, being the leading rusher and second leading receiver.

“The Saints struggled mightily on offense for much of the 2024 season, but that didn't stop Kamara from setting a career high in rushing yards or catching 68 passes. He also finished ninth in PPR points among running backs and fifth in fantasy points per game.” Davenport said,  “Getting that sort of upside for the cost of a mid-range RB2 is how fantasy leagues are won.”

Why is Alvin Kamara undervalued?

Davenport wrote how Kamara’s value is being overlooked due to the Saints low expectations. This is valuable for fantasy managers as they can get him at a discounted cost. Instead of drafting him in an early round they can wait and get him later.

Another key factor to mention is the Saints new head coach. Kellen Moore just finished a season where he led Saquan Barkely to over 2,000 yards rushing. It would be foolish to say Kamara will be at that level, however, he will still likely see an increased workload because of his offense.

He may be 29 years old, but Kamara hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. Fans shouldn’t expect him to either. If he can stay healthy, then Moore will make Kamara a focus point of this offense, giving him plenty of reps.

The Saints are projected to have a disappointing season in 2025, but that doesn’t mean players won’t produce. Fantasy football managers can capitalize on Alvin Kamara’s workload by drafting him in fantasy football.
