The New Orleans Saints got a bit of a scare on social media on Friday afternoon. It came at the hands of veteran running back Alvin Kamara, and it may have not meant what many fans think that it did.
Earlier in the day, reports revealed that the Saints are expected to hire Kellen Moore as their new head coach following the Super Bowl. He is the leading candidate, and another meeting is in the works following the postseason's conclusion.
Earlier in the offseason, Kamara lobbied for a different candidate to get the job. That situation has made fans think that he's not overly excited about the news regarding Moore's strong candidacy.
Kamara's recent post
The Saints star running back posted a single emoji on X/Twitter, that caused quite an eruption from fans of the team. It was the yawning emoji from Kamara.
Kamara is a fan of interim HC Darren Rizzi landing the Saints' job. He discussed it on social media, along with Cameron Jordan, recently. Rizzi would be their choice, according to their posts.
Ion really speak too much football. Especially in the offseason. But it be funny hearing why yall think a coach should get a job or not. But then again.. the last time some yall played organized anything was last night on 2k. Can’t een get ya best friend to pass you the ball at the park. Wife mad as hell you yelling on the game all night -- Kamara via Twitter/X
Accordingly, it is easy to get a bit queasy about Kamara's latest reaction. It's unknown what it was about, but if it was about the Moore news, that's a rough look for one of the most talented pieces on New Orleans' roster.
Kamara said that he would like to retire a Saint during the season and signed a new contract extension - that helps see that out for the running back.
We will see if he explains the emoji at any point, or if there will just be a bit of a mystery in the coming days for Kamara and the Saints.
