Amid Rodgers Rumors Steelers Players 'Believe in Rudolph' as Starting QB

Aaron Rodgers has still not broken his silence on where he intends to be playing football in the 2025 season, and that leaves the Pittsburgh Steelers with a less than ideal situation at quarterback.

The current starting field general for the Steelers is Mason Rudolph, with his backup being Skylar Thompson. While Rudolph is not bad by any means, he is no Rodgers. But with all of the doubt surrounding the team's QB situation, Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth expressed his belief in Rudolph on the Kaboly and Mack podcast.

"As guys on the team, we have all the belief in Mason," Freiermuth said. "You know he made some big plays when he was here last, winning three straight games to make the playoffs. Whatever happens, happens, but we will see."

Kenny Pickett was the Steelers' starter in 2023, but got injured just a few games before the end of the season. Rudolph came in and got three straight wins, leading the team to the postseason. While the team then lost in the Wild Card to the Buffalo Bills, there is no denying the impact that Rudolph had during his time with the team.

Now that there is a big question mark regarding Pittsburgh's QB situation heading into the season, Rudolph will no doubt be ready if he is called upon to be the starter. And if he does start, Freiermuth and the rest of the team will believe in him.
