It feels like the Tyreek Hill saga with the Miami Dolphins is just getting underway.
And the Washington Commanders are patiently waiting for the dam to break.
Hill and the Dolphins appear to be going back and forth about whether or not the All-Pro receiver should return for a fourth season with the organization. Along the way, other championship contenders like the Commanders could pose a quality replacement for his time in Miami.
Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton teased the Commanders as a potential landing spot for the Super Bowl champion.
“They acquired wideout Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers,” Moton noted. “And they have enough cap space ($26.3 million) to make another move at the position.”
Hill caught 81 passes for 959 yards to go along with six touchdowns.
It was the first time he did not record over 1,000 yards receiving in each of the last four seasons. There was a good reason, though. Hill dealt with multiple injuries throughout the 2024 campaign.
In an offense as loaded with two additional star wide receivers, the Commanders could see Hill as the final piece to a "Big Three" in the NFL.
“Terry McLaurin and Hill can be a nightmare tandem for opposing defenders,” Moton wrote. “Both can attack all three levels of the field, though the latter provides unmatched speed on the perimeter.
“With Hill in the fold, Daniels could let it rip a lot more downfield for back-breaking plays that put opponents away in close matchups."
A blockbuster trade for Hill would be a monster move for the Commanders.
They are already a title contender now. With Hill, they would move to favorites throughout the NFC.
