Are Dak Prescott's Cowboys 'Too Top-Heavy' to Upset Lions?

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott knows the importance of the offense's role players stepping up and making plays.

Much has been made of the Dallas Cowboys offensive weapons behind CeeDee Lamb and, to a lesser extent, Jake Ferguson.

With Brandin Cooks out with an infection in his knee, it was up to Jalen Tolbert, Jalen Brooks, Ferguson, and KaVontae Turpin to step up and help share the workload in the passing game.

And step up, they did.

Tolbert caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Dak Prescott, adding to his seven catches for 87 yards. Brooks hauled in a crucial 10-yard catch, Ferguson totaled 70 yards from his six receptions, and Turpin had four catches for 50 yards in the 20-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"You need guys like that, young guys who necessarily aren't your one or your two making those plays," Prescott said. "Whether it be injury that we're dealing with, [Brandin] Cooks, or whether it just be that third guy or fourth guy needing to make big-time catches, you're going to need everybody on this team."

There has been much criticism about the way Dallas has built its roster; "top-heavy'' is the phrase used. Does that make the Cowboys easier to stop?

With Lamb being the No. 1 weapon for the Cowboys' offensive, defenses naturally will try and take him away, and in the second halves of games, they have done just that.

Lamb only has four catches for 25 yards in the second half of games this season, and that means Tolbert, Turpin, and Ferguson, among others, have been Dak's go-to targets.

It has worked out well over the last couple of weeks, and now the Cowboys face a Detroit Lions defense that you can bet will be aiming to take CeeDee away from the first snap.

That will mean Dak needs "everybody" on offense to step up and make plays if they are to slay the Lions.
