Bears Signing DB Nahshon Wright

CHICAGO — The Chicago Bears are bolstering their defensive backfield with the signing of cornerback Nahshon Wright to a one-year contract, ESPN’s Courtney Cronin reported Tuesday.

Wright, 26, was just released by the Minnesota Vikings on Monday after spending most of the 2024 season on their practice squad. The former third-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 was initially acquired by the Vikings via trade last training camp but failed to secure a regular-season roster spot.

The 6-foot-4 defensive back appeared in just one game for Minnesota last season before inking a futures deal in January. With his release, the Bears quickly scooped him up, signaling their continued efforts to add size and depth to the secondary heading into the 2025 campaign.

Wright brings valuable special teams experience and rare length at the position. During his time with the Cowboys, he played in 32 games over three seasons, mostly as a rotational player and special teamer.

As training camp approaches, Wright will compete for a spot in a Bears cornerback room that’s looking for consistency and physicality on the outside.
