Bengals Player Facing Backlash Over Travis Kelce Comment

Over the weekend the Kansas City Chiefs received flak from Cincinnati Bengals fans for losing to the Denver Broncos, which kept Joe Burrow and company out of the playoffs.

Bengals Player Facing Backlash Over Travis Kelce Comment - Athlon Sports

Bengals fans suggested the Chiefs were "scared" of playing the Bengals again - something star tight end Travis Kelce took umbrage with. During the latest episode of "New Heights" Kelce unleashed on the idea that the Chiefs were scared of the Bengals in the playoffs.

"I'm not scared of [expletive] nobody, I wanted them in the [expletive] playoffs. I want to slay every dragon one-by-one like Mortal Kombat. I don't want this to be like a we play the lowest seed. Just give me the best teams - AFC/NFC. Give me all of them, Mortal Kombat style. I'll go through every [expletive] one of them just giving it my best [expletive] effort," he said during the show.

"I ain't scared of a single soul, man. I'll play them in a Wal-Mart parking lot, I don't give a [expletive]. We can have our own game in the offseason. Look, I love competing against the greatest. The Bengals were a fun [expletive] team to watch there towards the end of the [expletive] season. And it's a shame they didn't make the playoffs because it would have made the playoffs that much [expletive] crazier and that much more fun."

One Bengals player didn't take kindly to Kelce's comments.

"Cap, shut that shii up," Cam Taylor-Britt said.

Taylor-Britt immediately took heat from fans on social media - specifically Chiefs fans.

"I've never seen a fan base and actual players of the team so [expletive] delusional," one person said.

"Never change, Bengals lol," offered another.

"Did @CamTaylorBritt_ post this from his beach chair in Cancun?" joked a third.

"This Bengals team is the worst. Y'all Bengals fans should be ashamed of yourself," offered another.

Kansas City will get to sit back and relax before the divisional round of the playoffs in two weeks. Cincinnati, meanwhile, can sit back and relax until training camp.
