Bengals Should NOT Sign Former Pro Bowl Pass Rusher in Free Agency

CINCINNATI — The Titans released veteran defensive end Harold Landry on Friday.

Landry had 19.5 sacks over the past two seasons. Despite the production, the Bengals should pass on the veteran.

He'll be 29 in June and had an awful pass rush win rate last season of just 4.8%. His pass rush win rate was 10.3% in 2023, but was never higher than 7.8 in any of his six seasons (missed 2022 with torn ACL).

The Bengals should focus on a veteran like Jonathan Allen if they want to bolster their defensive front. He can still play at a high level and impact the passer on the interior—which is much harder to find.

Landry will likely command significant money, given the fact that he has 19.5 sacks over the past two seasons. The Bengals should use that money elsewhere.
