One of the many ways Bill Belichick likes to remind people of how many Super Bowl rings he has won is his boat, which he famously named “VIII Rings.”
Belichick has been a member of eight Super Bowl-winning championship teams. He won six championships as head coach of the Patriots and two as a defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells with the New York Giants.
According to TMZ, the boat has recently been renamed “One Plus Eight Rings.”
It’s not clear exactly what the extra ring represents, as Belichick has not won a Super Bowl since the 2018 season and left the Patriots following back-to-back four win seasons.
Belichick is entering his first season as head coach of the University of North Carolina football program, which has never won a national title.
But the video and photos that TMZ acquired of the boat were published days after a New York Times report mentioned that Hudson had told at least one person that she and Belichick are engaged.
The TMZ report mentioned that the extra ring could be an homage to the cheerleading national championship that Hudson won while she was at Bridgewater State.
The 73-year-old Belichick was previously married to Debby Clarke, who is the mother of his three children. The pair divorced in 2006. Belichick reportedly dated Linda Holliday from 2007 until 2023.
Hudson said she and Belichick met on a flight in 2021. Belichick and Hudson have not said publicly when their romantic relationship began. According to the New York Times report, Hudson was spending time in Foxborough by the summer of 2023.
In an April interview with “CBS Mornings,” Hudson said she and Belichick would not answer questions about how they met, which drew even more attention.
Belichick was recently asked about how much Hudson meant to him during a an interview on Good Morning America. He responded by saying he would not comment on personal relationships.
