Blake Moynes claimed that he almost became the lead on The Bachelor following his two unsuccessful stints on The Bachelorette.

Bachelorette 's Justin Glaze Shares Why Blake Moynes' Journey With Katie Thurston Felt "Weird"

"There's been a couple of instances that almost transpired, one being last year, Bachelor almost became a thing, being the lead, but went in a different direction," Blake, 34, claimed when asked about his plans to return to reality TV during the Thursday, April 10, episode of Jax Taylor's "In the Mind of a Man" podcast. "There was another opportunity with a Netflix show that just wasn't for me and I just couldn't do. There's also a Bravo network show that eventually happened, so we'll see what happens there.

While Blake claimed he was in talks to star as the next Bachelor, he didn't reveal who ultimately got the spot or why it didn't work out for him.

Blake went on to say that he wasn't necessarily "done" with his reality TV career. "I'm just picking and choosing what's actually appropriate for me, considering everything I had going on," he explained.

The Canada native said that he's had a hard time committing to certain projects because he's "all over the world" traveling. "Sometimes timelines don't necessarily link up, and sometimes it's not worth it to go and do, you know?" he said.

Blake made his reality TV debut when he competed for Clare Crawley's heart during season 16 of The Bachelorette in 2020. Clare, 44, quickly left the show when she got engaged to contestant Dale Moss, though Blake remained on the season and went on to pursue a relationship with Tayshia Adams.

Tayshia, 34, eliminated Blake before hometown dates, and he returned to the series one season later to pursue a romance with Katie Thurston during season 17. Katie, 34, and Blake ended the season engaged, though they called it quits in 2021.

"It is with mutual love and respect that we have decided to go our separate ways," Katie wrote while announcing their split via Instagram in October 2021. "We are so grateful for the moments we shared together and the entire journey that has unfolded this year, but we ultimately have concluded that we are not compatible as life partners, and it is the most caring choice for both of us to move forward independently."

Following his stints on The Bachelorette, Blake appeared on season 9 of Bachelor in Paradise. However, he also left the show single in 2023.

Also during the podcast interview, Blake shared an update about where he stands with Katie following their split. "It took a little while [but] she ended up showing up on [Bachelor in] Paradise when I was there," he said. "I had not talked to her since we ended the engagement. So two years later we hashed it out. … We've been in touch here and there since."

Blake then shared his reaction to Katie's cancer battle, which she publicly revealed in February. "Anything that she's been talking about, I've been following along with her," he said. "She did a podcast recently and I'm always just listening in on her. I'm not going to be on the phone with her obviously - as the ex - but I did reach out to her and left her a long video message giving her all the support."

"I will say it's a scary thing. But I know her and she's a fiery girl," Blake continued. "I'm very optimistic in how she handles this. As I see, it's a small hurdle for her. She's going about it in a very cool way, doing it publicly and showing [everyone the treatment process]."
