Bo Nix gets what he needs most from the Broncos in a 2025 NFL mock draft and it would help him take a sophomore leap this season

The Denver Broncos enter 2025 with a lot of positive momentum.

The team is coming off an appearance in the 2024 AFC playoffs, and they saw rookie QB Bo Nix step up the occasion and prove a lot of doubters wrong. Now, the focus for the 2025 NFL Draft is simple: improve on last season. A new A to Z Sports mock draft has the Broncos giving Bo Nix what he needs most in order to take a sophomore leap in 2025.

Denver Broncos land Arizona star WR Tetiairoa McMillan in  a new mock draft

"Quarterback Bo Nix was very good for the Broncos as a rookie. The team must now continue to put talented pass catchers around him. McMillan brings impact size, and a crazy catch radius to make him a quarterback’s best friend instantly."

New A to Z Sports mock draft

To put Nix in the best position to succeed, the Broncos need to add more firepower on the offensive side of the ball. The team could use upgrades at tight end, running back, and wide receiver.

In this mock, they land Arizona's star WR Tetiairoa McMillan. McMillan is a dynamic player who showed he was one of the best WRs in college football last season. And while I think he would certainly be an upgrade to the Broncos' WR room, I have some concerns about his fit with Courtland Sutton. I think Sutton is a better route runner than McMillan, but neither is a quick winner against NFL corners. Sutton leads the room, and having a deep threat like Marvin Mims, the team needs that safety blanket type of weapon for Nix, in this class.

For the first round, that probably would point towards a tight end being the more likely pass catcher the team would consider using their first round pick on. But I have always had the opinion that NFL teams won't ever regret adding good players, even if the fit has some question marks. And I don't think there's a solid argument against McMillan being one of the top WRs in this year's class.
