Boston Bruins Officially Fire Head Coach Joe Sacco

The Boston Bruins have officially informed Joe Sacco that he won't return as the team's head coach next season.

Joe Sacco was named interim head coach of the Boston Bruins in November, after a tough start to the season under Jim Montgomery.

Bruins don't need to win now. They just need to win it all.

Montgomery had success with the Bruins, but the team decided to part ways with him and Sacco was promoted to interim head coach after 10 years of being assistant.

After the season, the Bruins started their searching process to hire a new head coach, and Sacco was on the list of candidates for the job.

However, in breaking news, insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the organization informed Sacco that he wouldn't get the head coaching job.

He shared the news in the latest 32 Thoughts episode:

The Bruins are expected to announce their next coach in the coming days, and informing Sacco, who's been in the organization for ten years, that he wouldn't get the job before he learns it through the media is a classy move from the Bruins.

While the next head coach in Boston will have a lot of work to do before the start of training camp, General Manager Don Sweeney, who recently signed a two-year extension with the Bruins, will have the challenging task of bringing talent to the team after sending many talented players to other teams at the trade deadline in the hopes of getting back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs as soon as possible.

'It's an honor to be part of a franchise with such a storied history and passionate fan base. I fully understand and embrace the responsibility that comes with this role. Our fans have high expectations for this team, and so do I. The collective goal is to build a team that makes Bruins fans proud and ultimately brings another Stanley Cup back to Boston.'

It'll be interesting to see who will get the job, with Marco Sturm, Mitch Love and Jay Leach leading the race.
