The Boston Celtics are one of the best teams in the NBA. While the featured names are Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics have plenty of elite role players on their roster.

One of those elite role players is none other than former Oregon Ducks guard Payton Pritchard.

Pritchard has continually improved since joining Boston as the No. 26 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. He is also in the middle of the best season of his career thus far.

While the Celtics are pushing for another NBA Finals run, Pritchard's alma mater is in the middle of attempting to make an NCAA Tournament run.

Oregon was able to advance to the second round after an 81-52 blowout win over Liberty. The Ducks are now preparing to face Arizona on Sunday.

Following Oregon's round one win over Liberty, Boston made a social media post showing Pritchard in both a Celtics and Ducks jersey. The Celtics also gave the talented guard a new nickname.

"Wicked Pritch from the West," the post read.

So far this season, Pritchard has played in a career-high 14.1 points per game to go along with 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He has also shot 46.9% from the floor and knocked down 41.7% of his 3-point attempts.

During his senior year at Oregon, Pritchard made a name for himself. In the 2019-20 college season, he averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. His shooting numbers were impressive as well at 46.8% overall and 41.5% from 3-point range.
