The New Orleans Saints’ training camp at Crawford Field was especially lively as three iconic figures of the franchise made a joint appearance: General Manager Mickey Loomis, legendary quarterback Drew Brees, and the team’s versatile weapon, Taysom Hill.
Drew Brees Returns to Inspire the Next Generation
Drew Brees, who led the Saints to a Super Bowl XLIV victory, made a surprise visit to Monday’s padded practice. He spent time speaking with GM Mickey Loomis and veteran linebacker Demario Davis, while closely observing offensive drills. Brees’ presence not only thrilled fans but also energized young players competing for roster spots.
“It’s great to see Drew back on the field. He’s still part of this team’s DNA,” shared a member of the coaching staff.
General Manager Mickey Loomis was also on-site to evaluate the team’s development as they prepare for the upcoming season. With several injuries impacting the roster, Loomis is working closely with head coach Kellen Moore to adjust strategies ahead of joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams later this week.
Taysom Hill Making Positive Strides in Recovery
Taysom Hill, currently on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list due to an ACL injury sustained midseason in 2024, also made an appearance at camp. Though not yet cleared to practice, Hill engaged in productive conversations with coaches and teammates. According to Loomis, Hill’s recovery is progressing well, and the team expects him to return to action during the 2025 season.
