BREAKING: Kansas City Chiefs Sign All-American WR Amid 3 Major Questions At Position

On Wednesdays, the Kansas City Chiefs added another wide receiver to their roster for training camp. The move comes as the Chiefs face three critical questions at the position before the start of the season.

Rashee Rice could be suspended this season

One of the bigger NFL storylines of the offseason has been the off-field issues regarding Rashee Rice. The second-year receiver was involved in a high-speed crash in Dallas on Easter weekend. It’s unclear if he will be punished by the league this season. However, rumors have circulated he could miss substantial time this season.

Head coach Andy Reid is letting law enforcement and the league handle Rice’s situation. Per KSHB, Reid said on Tuesday that the league hasn’t indicated a suspension is coming:

“I don’t know that,” Reid said. “I haven’t heard anything up to this point, so I just let all the people in charge do that that are looking over that part.”

Two Kansas City Chiefs are on the bubble at training camp

Two receivers will battle to keep their jobs in training camp. Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore have underperformed for the Chiefs in recent seasons. The Chiefs would save $2.5 million by trading Toney before Aug. 27. They’d save $1.29 million by cutting or trading Moore.

With those issues present in Kansas City this summer, the Chiefs added another depth piece at receiver with the physical tools to make the 53-man roster.

Kyle Sheets signed with the Chiefs

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Chiefs signed undrafted rookie free agent Kyle Sheets. Sheets played college football for Slippery Rock. He signed with the New Orleans Saints this spring, but the Saints waived him in June.

Per Slippery Rock’s website, the six-foot-four, 220-pound receiver earned consensus All-American honors at the D-II level for the 2023 season. Sheets finished his career with 154 receptions and 29 receiving touchdowns. He appeared in 51 games for Slippery Rock.
