Breece Hall is one of the biggest names on the New York Jets roster, but for how long? Ever since newly appointed head coach Aaron Glenn claimed they would switch to a running back committee instead of relying mostly on Hall, fans and analysts opened up their scrapbooks to scribble trade scenarios.
The Jets are in a position to experiment with the running back slot. Aside from Hall, they have Isaiah Davis and Braelon Allen , itching to get extended time on the field. Not the best outcome for someone like Hall.
The former second-rounder is among the more dynamic rushers in the league. If Glenn installs a rotational system, then at some point, his stocks will take a hit. And that too in the final year of his rookie contract.
So, the best course of action from the Jets’ point of view is to trade Breece Hall and select a rookie running back by using their seventh overall pick in the draft. Hall came across the chatter on social media and posted a meme picture of a confused monkey smoking a cigarette while browsing his cell phone.

What did Aaron Glenn say about Breece Hall’s future?
Breece Hall’s trade talks sprouted during the NFL Owners’ meeting in Miami last month. Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey provided an outline of the direction the Jets are heading into before and during the off-season.
One of the biggest storylines to come out of the Jets camp was about Breece Hall and whether his place in New York was safe. Glenn spoke about utilizing all three RBs in a rotational system to maximize their potential.
They’re all big men, they can run, they’re violent, they’re physical. So I think once we get a chance to get the players in and see exactly how they operate, I think every player is going to be happy with the way that we go about this offense, and I think he’s going to be one of them.
Aaron Glenn said via ESPN’s Rich Cimini
Cimini pointed out that Hall’s numbers have slowly declined over the years. The Iowa State graduate went from an average of 5.8 to 4.5 to 4.2 yards per carry, and his rush yards over expected (per attempt) have dropped from 1.4 to 0.7 to 0.4, per Next Gen Stats.
The possible creation of a running back committee and trade talks may be a hint for Hall that he hasn’t reached his ceiling. So either he stays and shares snaps with Davis and Allen or he can look for a team where he can start regularly.
Which NFL teams might be interested in Breece Hall trade?
Hall’s output decreased after suffering an ACL tear in week 7 of the 2022 season. However, he’s still a running back capable enough to cut through defenses like a hot knife through butter.
Besides the confused monkey meme, Hall has remained silent on Glenn’s remarks about the RB committee. The coaches always take a team-first approach, bypassing how much a player is spending time on the field because they are expendable.
If the Jets make Breece Hall a trade candidate, a few teams might ring Mougey on his phone.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Pittsburgh Steelers let longtime starter Najee Harris leave in the off-season. Harris signed a contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. In his absence, the Steelers are going to rely on Jaylen Warren.

However, they don’t have enough depth in the RB spot. The Steelers should put in an inquiry for Breece Hall if the Jets make him a trade candidate. A reunion with former quarterback Aaron Rodgers could be on the cards for the 23-year-old.
Dallas Cowboys:
The Cowboys are among the favorites to draft Jeanty or a top running back by using their 12th pick. The NFC side went through a massive overhaul in the last couple of months. Ezekiel Elliott , along with Rico Dowdle , left to make way for Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders .
If you were the #Cowboys, would you trade for Breece Hall even if you draft a running back on Day 2? https://t.co/zCfHXRrijU

Jerry Jones already pulled off a Joe Milton heist, and it will not surprise anyone if he goes after Hall as well.
The decision rests on the Jets coaching team and Hall. There is trade value to be had, but it’s doubtful any team will give up more than a late third- or early fourth-round draft pick.
