Brock Purdy Breaks Silence on Rumored Tension With Deebo Samuel

It's been a long, winding road of a season for the San Francisco 49ers. Between difficult losses and season-altering injuries, cooler heads must prevail in today's media age.

Niners wide receiver Deebo Samuel created online turbulence on Monday after airing a grievance on his social media.

"Not struggling at all just not getting the ball!!!!!!! 🤷🏾‍♂️," Samuel wrote.

Some fans believed Samuel's comment was a direct shot at his quarterback, Brock Purdy, or at the Kyle Shanahan-led offense.

So much so, the wideout followed-up his post with another comment stating, "Just cause I voice my opinions don’t mean I’m hating on any of my teammates!! Be Fr."

The 24-year-old signal-caller attempted to clarify his interpretation and how the team is moving forward, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner.

"There's just moments I guess throughout seasons where guys just don't get the ball, just depending on the scheme or what the defensive scheme is and them taking guys away. So I want to get Deebo the ball every play if I could."

Through 12 games, Samuel has 40 receptions for 553 yards and one touchdown on 64 targets.

His numbers are down across the board compared to last season's totals, particularly in touchdowns. But that also speaks to the inefficiencies of San Francisco's offense from last year until now.
