Browns Deliver Direct 6-Word Message on Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft and are keeping all options on the table — including the possibility of selecting Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

It was once widely expected that the quarterback-needy Browns would target a passer with their top pick. However, momentum has shifted in recent weeks, with odds now favoring either Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter (minus-310, per FanDuel) or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter (plus+240) as the likely selection.

But Sanders is not out of the mix, per Browns general manager Andrew Berry.

"All options are on the board," Berry told reporters on Thursday while directly addressing a question about Sanders at No. 2.

The Browns enter next season with a projected win total of just 5.5 — the lowest in the NFL. While quarterback remains the most obvious need, the team appears more focused on securing long-term value with its first-round pick rather than reaching for a short-term fix.

"I think the biggest thing for us is we want to have long-term players across the roster,” Berry said. “We’re not going to necessarily force something if we don’t think the value’s right or anything along those lines. But we want to be thoughtful and disciplined in our decision making.”

The Browns have not had a first-round pick since 2021, when the team selected cornerback Greg Newsome.
