Browns fans agree that the offense is most to blame for 2024 struggles

Fan confidence is right back in the toilet too, heading into the bye.

Each week during season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team or their thoughts on other topics.

After their loss before the bye to the Chargers in Week 9, the Browns’ confidence tanked right back to 12%, a decrease of 44 percentage points from the previous week. It was a gut punch for fans who were desperate for offense, had some hope restored against the Ravens, and then had the rug pulled out from under them right away against the Chargers. Now, the team will try to salvage the second half of the season to a degree, but some fans probably just want a better draft pick at this point.

We asked two questions about the Browns this week. The first asked if fans agreed with the decision to trade away DE Za’Darius Smith before the deadline. 83% of fans agreed with the move, even though Cleveland still will have a lot of dead cap allocated to him next year, and they only netted a fifth- and sixth-round pick for him.

Our other question asked Browns fans which unit has been the most disappointing this season. 83% of the vote went to the offense, with 10% going to defense and 7% going to special teams. Even though you kind of figured it would be the offense, part of me still wondered if more people would say the defense. If there was a deeper discussion on the disappointment, I think one could legitimately argue about the defense — but on the surface, the offense is the easy choice.

The Browns are not playing this week, so there are no odds to report on from.
