Each week during season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team or their thoughts on other topics.
After their loss to the Raiders in Week 4, the Browns’ confidence level crept up to 15%, an increase of 9 percentage points from the previous week. Fans are still frustrated with the team’s 1-3 start, but I think there is a shred of optimism that guys like Nick Chubb, David Njoku, and Jack Conklin are close to returning to the offense.
The Commanders’ confidence is very high at 98% after their 3-1 start.
We asked two questions about the Browns this week. The first one asked who fans blamed the most for Cleveland’s loss to the Raiders last week. Even though it wasn’t good, I was surprised that the run defense received the most blame, getting 43% of the vote. Then, even though Deshaun Watson played a solid game, he was still blamed by 31% of the vote. Amari Cooper got 16% of the blame with his big drop, and then Nick Harris (7%) and Dustin Hopkins (3%) were at the low end of the blame.
Our other question focused on how fans see this week’s game against the Commanders going. Overall, 75% of Cleveland fans are expecting the Commanders to win, with 25% picking the Browns to win.
In a new twist, fans on a national level were asked who they think will cover the spread between the Browns and the Commanders. The Browns are 3 point underdogs to the Commanders this Sunday, per FanDuel Sportsbook. Only 14% of people think Cleveland will cover, while all the bets are going toward the Commanders.
