The Cleveland Browns have a clear question at quarterback, given the injury woes and substandard play of Deshaun Watson.
Watson has been with the Browns for the past three seasons after being traded to Cleveland in the prime of his career. He was once viewed as a perennial Pro Bowler in Houston, but an Achilles injury in 2024 has put that conversation on hold.
As Watson works through the rehab process, Cleveland has been linked to another Pro Bowl quarterback.
According to Daniel Valente and Brenden Deeg at The Score , the Browns are predicted to land Russell Wilson, who recently played one season with their division foe, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Last season, Wilson posted 16 touchdowns and 2,482 yards with a 63.7 completion percentage, being named a Pro Bowl quarterback. He led the Steelers to a 10-8 record, having lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs.
Before Watson suffered an Achilles injury, he recorded five touchdowns and 1,148 yards, completing 63.4% of his pass attempts.
The Browns finished the season with a 3-14 record. They have also been closely connected with top quarterback prospects, such as Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, in the 2025 NFL Draft, but a veteran signal-caller may be necessary for Cleveland.
Even in the latter half of his NFL career, Wilson would be a major addition to the Browns, who have been searching for quarterback stability for years.
