Have the Cleveland Browns truly found their answer at quarterback?
The Cleveland Browns have a very crowded quarterback room heading into 2025. The team acquired four new signal-callers to fight for the starting job this season, and still have Deshaun Watson under contract, who will miss the upcoming season with an achilles injury.
The Browns hit the trifecta of quarterback acquisitions: they traded for Kenny Pickett, signed Joe Flacco in free agency, and then picked up a pair of quarterbacks in the NFL Draft.
The Browns selected Oregon gun slinger Dillon Gabriel in the third round, and the enigmatic Shedeur Sanders out of Colorado in the fifth.
However, none of these names are for-sure starters long-term, meaning the Browns might be needing to address the position again next offseason.
Travis May of A to Z Sports believes that is exactly the direction the Browns are heading, and in his Three-Round 2026 NFL Mock Draft, he has the Browns selecting Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik with the No. 3 overall selection.
"Heading into the College Football Playoff Cade Klubnik had already thrown more passing touchdowns than every QB in the nation last fall except for Cam Ward (Miami) and Shedeur Sanders (Colorado). Klubnik put it all together in 2024 as he was much more efficient through the air and explosive on the ground. Somehow people still seem to disagree on his talents despite the Top 10 passing profile in the nation last season." May wrote.
"Clemson returns plenty of weapons around him, so he's in great position to take another massive step forward in his development, put up some huge numbers, and possibly even push for a national championship with the Tigers. This former five star stud looks very much on track for first round capital (as you can see in 9 minutes of highlights on the post below) and the Browns go to the quarterback well once again here."
May also has the Browns in possession of the No. 8 pick via Jacksonville, where he has the Browns selecting defensive tackle Peter Woods, also out of Clemson.
"The Browns may have just drafted Mason Graham, but building the best defensive trenches in football is never a bad idea. Peter Woods can line up anywhere along the defensive front, but specializes as a destructive B-gap tackle who already has back to back seasons with pass rush pressure rates near double positional average. Woods is the best defensive tackle prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft by far (at least for now)."
In the second round, May has the Browns selecting Auburn wideout Eric Singleton Jr., while getting some offensive line help in the third with Notre Dame's Charles Jagusah.
