Browns Sign UFL Star RB Amid Quinshon Judkins Uncertainty

The Cleveland Browns are bulking up their backfield amid injuries and uncertainty, signing UFL standout Toa Taua.

Police share new details about Quinshon Judkins arrest

Taua went undrafted in 2023 but has made a name for himself in the UFL. He led the league in rushing touchdowns last season, collecting 357 yards on 81 carries.

Prior to the UFL, Taua played five years at Nevada, rushing for 3,995 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also caught 163 passes for 1,192 yards and four more touchdowns.

The signing of Taua comes with the Browns dealing with depth issues at running back. Jerome Ford has been sidelined with an injury, while rookie Quinshon Judkins remains unsigned, dealing with his off-field issues. That has left Dylan Sampson, Pierre Strong Jr. and undrafted rookie Ahmani Marshall carrying the load.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry hinted at a potential running back signing this week.

“We are still gathering information, so, in terms of those decisions, signing, being at camp and everything like that, it’s probably too early to make any type of determination. So, as we gather information, we’ll have a better view on that,” Berry said. “I have learned in many of these off-field situations not to go too far into the future. We’ll deal with the day-to-day. You end up using a lot of mental energy in terms of hypotheticals and things of that nature. We’ll focus on getting the information and then making the right decisions.”
