Browns Tendered Receiver Elijah Moore Throws Shade At Unstable Cleveland

The Cleveland Browns have had a fair amount of turnover this offseason, especially on offense. One of the most notable changes is the absence of Nick Chubb, who is currently set to not be on the team for the first time in seven years.

The Browns also didn't bring back veteran wide receiver Elijah Moore, who was a two-year starter for the Browns. Moore went to the AFC East, signing a deal with the Buffalo Bills, where he will get to play alongside the NFL's reigning MVP in Josh Allen.

Perhaps largely in part due to the allure of playing with Allen, Moore took a jab at his former stops - the New York Jets and the Browns.

"It's really just an earn it thing. When you play football, you can't promise anything to anyone.. For me, my whole career I haven't had too many great opportunities with a stable QB." Moore said. "

It seems like I'm playing with five QBs every single season.. I feel having the MVP for an entire season... I feel it will be the best position I've been put in yet."

The Browns deployed seven different quarterbacks during Moore's stint with the team, including five different signal callers in 2023. In spite of the volatility of the position, the Browns won 11 games and made the playoffs that season with Moore serving as the third-leading receiver, tallying a career-high 640 yards and two touchdowns.

Moore was a second-round pick for the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft, and has failed to live up to the high expectations he had coming out of Ole Miss. As a junior, Moore had 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns in just eight games, two marks he hasn't come close to matching in the pros across 61 games and 40 starts.

Moore's production took a step back in 2024 despite nearly identical target numbers (104 in 2023, 102 in 2024). Moore made two more catches (61 in 2024) but racked up just 538 yards and one touchdown, setting a career-low in yards-per-reception with 8.8, his first mark under 10.8 in his career.
