Bruins Have Potential PTO Target In Fascinating Sniper

With it now being August, we should start to see teams sign remaining unrestricted free agents (UFAs) to professional tryouts (PTOs). When looking at the Boston Bruins' current roster, they certainly could go down this route again, as there is no question that they could still use more skill.

3 Potential Free Agent Destinations For Victor Olofsson | NHL Trade Rumors

When looking at the UFAs left, one who undoubtedly stands out as a potential PTO candidate for the Bruins is winger Victor Olofsson.

After the season Olofsson just had with the Vegas Golden Knights, it is a bit surprising to still see him available for the taking. After posting just seven goals and 15 points with the Buffalo Sabres in 2023-24, Olofsson bounced back with Vegas this past season, recording 15 goals, 29 points, and a plus-17 rating in 56 games. With numbers like these, he would have the potential to give the Bruins more secondary scoring, which is a serious need for them right now.

Olofsson has also shown many times during his career that he can be an impactful offensive contributor, as he has scored 20 goals and recorded 40 points three times during his seven-year career. With this, he could be a nice player for the Bruins to take a look at on a PTO or even a one-year contract. He would offer them another option to consider for their middle six and power play if invited to their training camp, which would not be a bad thing in the slightest.

New Road Uniforms Give Bruins Another Classic Look

The Boston Bruins unveiled their new road uniforms Wednesday with a video reveal on social media and their official website.

The fresh design continues the team’s commitment to blending history with modern simplicity. While the black home jerseys were previewed earlier this summer, the road version adds a sharp white complement to the new look Bruins fans will see throughout the 2025-26 season and beyond.

The sweater features a clean white base with a traditional spoked B on the chest, surrounded by black and yellow detailing. A classic pair of yellow stripes runs down each sleeve, and the shoulder is marked by a vintage-inspired bear patch with “Boston” stitched inside. That same patch replaces the “Bruins” shoulder crest found on their new home sweater.

Black gloves and pants maintain the uniform’s minimalist aesthetic. Yellow stitching offers a subtle nod to the franchise’s timeless color scheme, which dates back to the 1930s. White socks featuring black and yellow stripes finish off the set.

The full reveal video spotlights Pavel Zacha and Mason Lohrei wearing the new road sweaters. That follows an earlier unveiling of the home look, modeled by David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy, who will both serve as alternate captains this season.

Though the road jerseys are new, they borrow heavily from the Bruins’ legacy. The shoulder bear is a tribute to the team’s original 1924 logo, and the spoked B continues to evolve.

For this year’s set, the logo blends elements from the past, notably the un-outlined spokes of the pre-2007 era, with the serifed “B” added in the redesign that year.

According to the team, the updated look is meant to be “a modern interpretation of a classic look.” The Bruins will debut the new road uniforms on Oct. 8 against the Washington Capitals, followed by their home opener on Oct. 9 vs. the Chicago Blackhawks.
