Bruins Make Surprising Decision With Lines

The Bruins made a surprising decision regarding their lines at practice.

The Boston Bruins returned to practice on Wednesday after an embarrassing 4-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers the night before. The reigning Western Conference champions outplayed the Bruins in all areas, and Boston suffered their fifth straight loss because of it.

After the Bruins' ugly loss, head coach Joe Sacco did not change the Original Six club's lines at practice. This decision was surprising, given how much the team struggled against Edmonton in all areas.

The Bruins are set to face off against the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight (Jan. 9), so yesterday was the club's only practice before the contest. Given their disappointing performance against the Oilers, trying out some new forward lines and defense pairings would have been understandable. However, that did not occur.

It will be intriguing to see if the Bruins use the same lineup against the Lightning as they did in their contest against Edmonton from here. If they do, here's hoping the Bruins have more success with it this time around.
