Bruins Rising Star Could Become Big Piece

This Boston Bruins forward could hit a new level with the Original Six club next season.

After earning an NHL contract with the Boston Bruins in February, forward Justin Brazeau made an immediate impact. The 26-year-old winger was a pleasant surprise for the Bruins and gave them some much-needed secondary offensive production in a bottom-six role. Because of this, he stuck with the NHL club for the remainder of the season.

Brazeau put up some solid numbers with Boston, posting five goals, seven points, and a plus-4 rating in 19 regular-season games. In addition, the 6-foot-5 forward was quite physical, recording 43 hits on the campaign. Now, the New Liskeard native's goal in 2024-25 will be to continue to develop in the right direction. If he does, he could become an essential piece of the Bruins' roster moving forward.

When looking at the Bruins' depth at right wing, there are spots to fight for. Because of this, Brazeau has a real chance of playing in Boston's top nine next season. However, if he impresses, he could also be a dark-horse candidate for the 2RW spot, which is up for grabs with the departure of Jake DeBrusk.

Brazeau showed real promise during his short time with Boston last campaign, and he is a prime breakout candidate heading into next season because of it. If he takes that next step and cements himself as an impactful middle-six forward, he will give the Bruins a notable boost this upcoming season. It will be exciting to see what kind of season he puts together from here.
