Bruins Superstar Dives Into Jeremy Swayman Contract Talks

Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand shared his thoughts on the Jeremy Swayman contract situation.

Even with training camp being right around the corner, Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman remains a restricted free agent. With Swayman set to be the Bruins' clear No. 1 goalie this season, fans have naturally felt concerned about the club's star being unsigned so late into the offseason.

Bruins turned to their stalwarts to get things turned around

While speaking with reporters at the Boston Bruins Foundation golf tournament on Thursday, Bruins captain Brad Marchand dove into the Swayman contract talks:

"It’s a big topic of conversation with the fans and the media, and this is part of the business, and we all are really looking forward to when it does get done and the process is over and he is back with the group. But that’s obviously out of our hands and we don’t get involved in any of that. So it’ll be great when everything gets kind of squared away.”

It is easy to understand why Marchand is looking forward to Swayman's new deal coming to fruition. Swayman is an essential part of the Bruins' roster, especially with the club trading fellow star netminder Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators this offseason.

Based on his comments, Marchand also seems confident that a Swayman deal will eventually occur.

It will be interesting to see how much longer this new deal for Swayman takes. The Bruins have some work to do if they hope to get it finalized once training camp is here.
