Bruins Superstar Has One Big Regret From 2023-24

This Boston Bruins superstar has one main regret from the 2023-24 season.

The 2023-24 season was once again a successful campaign for Boston Bruins superstar David Pastrnak. In 82 games, the 2014 first-round pick posted 47 goals to go along with a career-high 63 assists. In addition, it was a strong season overall for the Bruins, as they once again finished near the top of the NHL standings after losing several notable players during the previous summer.

However, while Pastrnak and the Bruins' 2023-24 season was certainly positive, the 28-year-old has one big regret from it.

While speaking with NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Pastrnak revealed that his lone regret from the 2023-24 season was that he and the Bruins could not force a Game 7 against the Florida Panthers. However, Friedman also reported that Pastrnak said that Florida was simply a better team than the Bruins last season.

Pastrnak also dove into the Bruins exceeding expectations last season and defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round:

"We proved a lot of people wrong, last year we were not even supposed to make the playoffs. We beat a better team on paper (Toronto)."

Pastrnak, of course, put the dagger in the Maple Leafs' heart by scoring the overtime winner in Game 7 of the first round.

Nevertheless, while Pastrnak regrets the Bruins' failure to force a Game 7 against the Panthers, the new season offers a clean slate and the chance for redemption. The Bruins had a pretty busy offseason, notably adding Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. It will be fun to see how they end up matching up against the Panthers and the rest of the NHL next season.
