Tristan Wirfs wore a bulky knee brace and didn’t participate in Tuesday’s minicamp practice, according to multiple reporters on site.

According to Jenna Laine of ESPN, Coach Todd Bowles said Tristan Wirfs’ absence was precautionary after an offseason injury.

“Bucs All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs did not participate in today’s first minicamp practice. He had a large brace on his right knee. Coach Todd Bowles said it’s an offseason injury and that it’s “precautionary.” He added, “He’ll be fine in training camp.””

Wirfs, 26, has been a cornerstone for the Buccaneers, starting 79 games in his first five seasons. He signed a historic five-year extension last August, becoming the highest-paid OL in the league at the time.
