The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offseason has seen the franchise get a positive reaction from an anonymous NFL executive.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offseason has been headlined by the franchise's ability to retain the services of receiver Chris Godwin.
But that wasn't all the franchise did.
They managed to re-sign Ben Bredeson and Lavonte David while bringing in star pass rusher Haason Reddick to bolster the defensive line and give the pass rush more bite.
With the annual league meeting now done and dusted, The Athletic's Mike Sando spoke with several higher-ups, and when it came to one NFL executive, they spoke highly of what the Buccaneers were able to do.
“People question the Reddick move, but it looks like a great scheme fit for Todd Bowles," the executive said. "They do a good job identifying rushers, with Calijah Kancey as an example. Keeping Godwin and everyone else, and adding the rusher, was huge for them.”
Considering the Buccaneers are running it back with most of the roster while also adding Reddick, if they can get a good run with the injury bug, then there is nothing to suggest Tampa Bay won't be division winners again and one of the prime movers in the NFC.
Of course, we saw last season that Todd Bowles' team can deal well with adversity, managing to stay afloat until reinforcements arrived, and then the team rattled off six wins in their final seven games.
So the Buccaneers are loading up to go again in 2025, and with Josh Grizzard as the new offensive coordinator, Tampa will be hoping he can maintain the status quo and help push the franchise to new heights next season.
