C.J. Stroud Is Working Out With Lions WR

C.J. Stroud is one of the newest sensations in the NFL, and the quarterback took the league by storm last year as a rookie by leading the Houston Texans to an unexpected playoff berth.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - FEBRUARY 04: C.J. Stroud #7 of the Houston Texans and AFC looks to throw the ball during the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl Games at Camping World Stadium on February 04, 2024 in Orlando, Florida.

He appears to have the clutch gene, and it is scary to think how much better he can get in just the next couple of years well before he even enters his prime.

With a couple of weeks to go before veterans report to training camps across the league, he was spotted working out with Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, per Dov Kleiman.

Stroud was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year for 2023 by throwing for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and just five interceptions, and he led the league in both interception percentage and passing yards per game.

The Texans were coming off a 3-13-1 season when they took Stroud with the No. 2 pick in the 2023 draft, but he guided them to a 10-7 finish and a blowout win over the Cleveland Browns in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

This coming season, he will be joined by Stefon Diggs, a star wide receiver who has made the Pro Bowl in each of his last four seasons, and Diggs will likely take Houston’s strong offense to an elite or near-elite level.

St. Brown, meanwhile, made his second Pro Bowl in 2023 with 1,515 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns, and he still seems to have some room for improvement at age 24.

His Detroit Lions finished first in the NFC North with a 12-5 record and went to the NFC Championship Game last season, and they should continue to be a force this fall and winter.
