The Indiana Fever have significantly bolstered their roster in the offseason with the goal of building on their playoff appearance last year and supporting star player Caitlin Clark as she enters the 2025 WNBA season. These impactful moves include the addition of veteran stars DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard, who both bring championship experience and leadership to the team.
The Fever’s frontcourt was further strengthened by the acquisition of elite defender Brianna Turner. These additions created a well-rounded and competitive lineup, complementing the existing core of Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell.
Why Did Caitlin Clark Meet With The NFL?
Caitlin Clark was invited by the NFL to a panel discussion about “women’s sports and the league’s aspirations around flag football.”

The NFL had expressed major interest on flag football, which will be included in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Flag football is also a crucial youth participation initiative for both boys and girls. The NFL is additionally interested in developing professional flag football teams for both men and women.
“Flag football is a high priority of ours. It’s an opportunity for young women to participate in our game … and as we look forward, there definitely seems to be an appetite and interest in a professional flag league for both men and women,” NFL EVP Jeff Miller told the news outlet Front Office Sports. “So it’s a continuation of the growth in women’s sports, and the role that the NFL can play in it.”
“We don’t get an opportunity to talk about this enough, just the explosion of women in sports,” said Troy Vincent, NFL EVP of football operations. “This is happening across the globe, and we want to continue that conversation among our membership.”

Tennis icon Serena Williams, former Giants quarterback and current front-office staffer Eli Manning, and Broncos co-owner Mellody Hobson will join Caitlin Clark on the panel discussion.
