The Detroit Lions have been one of the most highly-discussed teams in the NFL over the past year.

After several seasons of frustrating results, the Lions burst onto the scene in 2023.

Not only did they make the playoffs, but the Lions made it all the way to the NFC Championship, nearly taking down the San Francisco 49ers.

While it was a disappointing result in the NFC’s title game, it was an accomplishment for them to get there in the first place.

After seeing how the team performed last year, it was made clear to fans and analysts that this isn’t the same old Lions team.

Calvin Johnson recently appeared on “Unsportsmanlike Radio,” discussing the Lions, saying the difference is “night and day” from when he played for the team.

When Johnson played for the team, the Lions seemed to be a bottom-10 team in the league most years, even though they had Matthew Stafford as their quarterback.

Stafford was a beloved figure within the organization, and while he put up solid stats, he was unable to take this team on a meaningful playoff run.

Jared Goff has stepped in as the new leader of the team, and with a new, ferocious but lovable coach in Dan Campbell, this team has found a way to get to the next level.

The Lions are hoping to build on their momentum from last season and turn that into a string of playoff appearances.

The NFC North is seemingly wide open, and at the moment, it’s a two-horse race between the Lions and Green Bay Packers, making for a fun rivalry for the foreseeable future.
