Calvin Ridley Poised for a Breakout Season with Cam Ward:
As the Tennessee Titans gear up for the upcoming NFL season, wide receiver Calvin Ridley is set to catch passes from the team’s new quarterback, No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward. After finishing his first season with the Titans with just over 1,000 receiving yards, primarily from quarterbacks Will Levis and Mason Rudolph, Ridley is optimistic that his performance will elevate with Ward under center.
A Fresh Start with Cam Ward
Ridley’s transition into the Titans’ offense is marked by a newfound comfort as he enters his second year with the team. Easton Freeze, an insider at A to Z Sports, highlighted Ridley’s progress, noting that he feels significantly more at ease in the system this time around. “He told us he’s much more comfortable in this system heading into Year 2,” Freeze reported. “It’s a lot less thinking and adjusting for him.”
The early connection between Ridley and Ward has shown promising signs. Freeze pointed out that their chemistry appears to be developing smoothly, contrasting sharply with the challenges Ridley faced last year with Levis. “Right now, Ward to Ridley looks easy,” he stated, emphasizing that while it’s still early in the training process, the signs of improvement are tangible.
